:Premiere: Ghostfeeder Releases Music Video for “MartinFly” off the New Album ‘World Fameless’
Ghostfeeder is the brainchild of songwriter, programmer, and vocalist Derek Walborn. A mixture of grinding guitars, dance-inducing bass lines, gritty synth leads, and calculated digital glitches result in the sonic equivalent of a lifetime of 8-bit video games and science fiction films plastered on the walls of your favorite dimly-lit venue.
Ghostfeeder has shared stages and venues with national acts including Blink 182, Powerman 5000, The Bunny The Bear, Genitorturers, Nonpoint, Royal Blood, Ludovico Technique, Leæther Strip, and Filter. Thanks to overwhelming fan support, Ghostfeeder also played on the Ernie Ball Stage at the Van’s Warped Tour.
In February of 2014, Walborn, in collaboration with Chris Corner of IAMX, released a music video for the song “Just Like That,” propelling Ghostfeeder’s music and style into the international spotlight. Later that year, Ghostfeeder released The Messenger, a haunting, conceptual EP about alien abduction with the support of Beyond Therapy Records. Read COMA’s review of The Messenger here. In 2015, Walborn, along with guitarist/compatriot Luke Dangler, successfully wrapped a North American tour in direct support of En Esch, formerly of KMFDM.
I made the video myself using my gig rig in my practice room with all of my light show set up. I basically wanted to give people an idea of what a live Ghostfeeder performance tends to look like these days. – Derek Walborn
