:News: Celldweller and Josh Viola Unveil Full Novel and Soundtrack for ‘Blackstar’
Descend into the dystopian world of prolific electronic rock artist Celldweller and sci-fi author Josh Viola with the full novel and score for Blackstar. The complete novel comes after Blackstar: Act I and Act II were previously released.
The music and book collaboration sends the reader into a futuristic world through the medium of written word and out-of-this-galaxy electronic composition. Celldweller had this to say about the culmination of the project:
“I’m excited for the release of Blackstar. It’s been years in the making and I can’t wait for people to be able to dig into the full book as well as the final score I composed to help immerse the reader in this dystopian utopia.”
Josh Viola, author of previous successful novel Bane of Yoto also commented on the final project:
“Celldweller and I started ‘Blackstar’ a couple years ago. We’ve both watched it grow and develop in a very organic way, waiting for the right moment to unleash it to the masses. It’s very exciting to know that time has finally arrived. There aren’t many novels accompanied by an original score. The prose and the audio come together seamlessly—it feels like you’re standing in a cyberpunk city.”

“Lost Treasures,” a brand new song from the score, is streaming now via Bloody-Disgusting. The website called the song “…simmering and moody piece, sounding like something that would play as one walked through the streets of Blade Runner, neon lights flashing and steam rising from sewer vents.”
The book and score is available via the FiXT Store on Sept. 18 and is now up for pre-order.
